For those of you that are concerned with security and being anonymous while online, you may have heard of a program called TOR which effectively helps you fold into the crowd while online. We wrote an article earlier on a website called Tor2Web that allowed you to access hidden .onion sites with no setup required; Today we will show you how to pass all of your mobile traffic through TOR on your Android with Orbot, which comes from the makers of TOR.

Here you can see the checklist where you check off which applications you want to go through TOR. I suggest NOT passing Social Network traffic and any kind of E-commerce traffic through TOR.
Orbot is very simple to run and setup. You download the program from the Google Play store, and in 5 minutes or less, you will have all of your mobile traffic passing through the TOR network. This is great for anonymity, and also great for hiding your web activity online.
This can be useful for private browsing as well as private communications as you can pass instant messenger traffic through Orbot pretty easily. The possibilities are endless as long as you pay attention to your surroundings, and properly protect yourself from scripts that could otherwise reveal your location.
In short, this is not a toy, but it is a great tool you can use next time you are browsing the sketchy side of the darknet.
