    Let me start this guide by saying that Mario, Mario Kart and all of the Mario series games are awesome, so let’s just have an understanding that those would take up the entire list had I included them. Let’s just agree they are great games, but for this article, I’m focusing on games you might not be familiar with that are my favs that still rock!

    How To Play SNES On Your PC or Apple

    I have copied this list of emulators for you from CoolRom. Download one of them, and move on to the next step. I recommend ZSNES or SNES9x.

    Now that you have that set up you can move to the next step, but if you want an explanation of what you just downloaded, read on. Back in the day, each system had a unique setup with a certain CPU architecture, and memory scheme. In order to make the game run smoothly, we want our computer to run as similar to the old hardware as possible for optimal performance. The emulator interacts with what is called the BIOS which stands for Basic Input Output System, and is the brain of the game console. These parts act together to make a program, or a ROM run smoothly so that we can play Killer Instinct at 60 frames a second.
