Hey guys! I am typing this post from a new blogging client that I downloaded called Blogilo. It enables you to pull up a desktop app and start typing right away, while managing several blogs. You can see why this is obviously a very handy tool for me.
My blog of choice at the moment is WordPress, and as some of you may know, WordPress has a pretty spiffy backend. This application makes me question the need for me to fire up Chrome, then load my dashboard, and then post. It all seems very backwards once you start using something like Blogilo. The time savings are immediately apparent.
With all of this talk about WordPress and how great it is (for now), I feel I should also mention that this application is not just a one-trick-pony. Blogilo can manage blogs from different platforms such as Blogger, MetaWeblog, MovableType, WordPress, and it also supports Blogspot.com. This is a pretty impressive array of services, and seems to have the entire entry-level blog platform covered. I wonder if Concrete5 is going to get any love in the future?
So what do you guys think? I’d be hard pressed to find any complaints on this end, but oh wait, yeah that one big thing that may make me trash this app.. THERE IS NO SPELL CHECK. At least if there is, it is not enabled by default. Before I rush to any judgement, however, I am just going to check things out and see how it goes. Maybe there is something in the settings that I have not seen yet.
Overall, I give this app a 4/5 and if you think it is something you are interested in, then you should check out the site and download a copy for yourself!
It runs on Windows and all types of *nix systems. Enjoy!
