NOS Energy Drink is anenergy drink sometimes distributed in a bottle designed to look like a NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) cartridge. It is produced by theThe Coca Cola Company, and licensed by Holley Performance, which owns the trademark. NOS is available in 8 and 16 ounce aluminum cans, 11 and 22 ounce resealable bottle forms and as a 2 ounce “Powershot.” The original version is flavored with juice, but other variants including “fruit punch” and “grape” are also available. Like many other energy drinks, NOS contains high levels of taurine, and caffeine, but differs via its inclusion of large amounts L-carnitine. 
AMP Energy (or simply AMP) is an energy drink brand produced and owned byPepsiCo. At the time of its introduction in 2001, AMP Energy was initially distributed under the Mountain Dew soft drink brand. Since 2009, it has been produced and labeled under its own stand-alone trademark name. The beverage is packaged in both 16-ounce and 24-ounce cans, and is sold in the United States and Canada. As of 2009, AMP Energy was the number four energy drink brand in the U.S. in terms of overall retail sales.

Rockstar Energy Drink is available in fourteen different flavors, and in over twenty countries. By 2007, Rockstar was one of the top three energy drink brands in North America, (having enjoyed 155% growth in sales in 2004, reaching $48 million) and had sold over a billion cans. It had 14% of the US energy drink market in 2008, and as of 2009 was available in over 20 countries, in addition to the United States. Rockstar switched distributors from Coca-Cola to PepsiCo in summer of 2009.
Four Loko is a line ofalcoholic beverages, originally marketed as energy drinks, sold by Phusion Projects ofChicago, Illinois. Phusion operates as Drink Four Brewing Company. Four Loko, the company’s most popular beverage, debuted in the United States market in 2005. It is now sold in 48 states, and in Europe andCanada. The name “Four” is derived from the original energy drink’s four main ingredients: alcohol, caffeine,taurine, and guarana.
Jolt Cola was a carbonated soft drink produced by Wet Planet Beverages. It was created in 1985 by C. J. Rapp as a highly caffeinatedcola. It is targeted towards students and young professionals, stressing its use as a stimulant in a similar manner as energy drinks. In late September 2009, Jolt Co Inc (Wet Planet Beverages) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after failing to meet the demands fromRexam to fulfill an agreement over buying resealable cans. Emigrant Savings Bank, the main creditor, then acquired the Jolt assets and relaunched the business.
